Mets Fan Appreciation Day Ruler

As a 'measure' of appreciation, the New York Mets handed out these metal rulers on Fan Appreciation Day, September 27, 1964, to close out their home schedule. All fans that attended the double header against the Cincinnati Reds received this souvenir one foot ruler. The crowd of 26,589, brought the Mets' total home attendance to 1,732,597. In between games fans were treated to picnic events such as egg-tossing and cow-milking.

The foot long Litho metal ruler illustrated Mr. Met in blue and orange team colors, on the far left, and the New York Mets team skyscraper logo on the right. In between, the ruler reads: "A token measure of our appreciation, From the New York Mets, Sept. 27, 1964, Shea Stadium, SEE YOU IN '65." The top features measurements in inches, the bottom in metrics. The back of the single hole punched souvenir ruler is blank.
