The
Ralings AB premium autographed
baseballs were produced during
the 1960s, and into the early
1970s. The balls displayed 8
player signatures, and were
used in a number of promotions,
but not exclusive to one. The
Rawlings AB baseballs are dated
to promotions as advertised.
The dating of balls that are
yet to be connected to an ad,
are estimated based on
trademark logos, and will be
updated when they can be
attributed to a dated
advertisement.......

Baseball memorabilia
associated with tragedy will
typically have a low collectors
value. But, it is an historic
documentation that tells the
story to future generations of
a time of national crisis, and
loss of life. Baseball helped
us cope with it, by returning
some normalcy to our daily
lives. The bravery of our
healthcare workers putting
themselves in the path of this
virus will never be
forgotten......

50 Years ago in 1969, Major
League Baseball introduced the
official MLB logo in
celebration of Baseball's 100th
anniversary. The logo was
placed on all licensed

thereafter. The logo set a
timeline for collectors to help
date baseball memorabilia. In
1994, Major League Baseball
celebrated the 125th
Anniversary of professional

National
Baseball

|
|
From 1919 to 1957, J. G.
Taylor Spink, and the U.S.
department of commerce held the
National baseball week, just
before the start of the
baseball season. It became an
annual marketing event for many
years. The 10% war tax placed
on sporting goods in 1917, was
hurting the industry, and the
promotion offered 'playground
ballplayers' the chance to
purchase baseball equipment at
a discount......Read

Guide

|
The Rawlings dot and
BLACKHORSE codes were used on
all top-line gloves. Date codes
were for internal use, added to
the gloves for inventory
control. Not to provide the
consumer or a collector to use
for dating. The dot code was
first used around 1973 through
to 1983. The BLACKHORSE code
was used from 1984 until 1997,
and then in 1998 Rawlings
reverted back to the dot code.
In 2003 Rawlings started a 4
letter BLACKHORSE code with a
two digit numeric tannery code
at the end......Read

Lou Gehrig of the NY Yankees
was the first athlete to appear
on a box of cereal. Through the
years since, numerous
ballplayers appeared on the
side panels and the back of
Wheaties boxes, but it was not
until 1985 when Pete Rose
became the first Baseball
player. The first baseball team
depicted on a Wheaties box was
the 1987 World Series Champion
Minnesota Twins. Lets take a
look back at Wheaties baseball
