published by Charles C. Spink & Son.
The 128 pages baseball record book
includes schedules, standings, a
detailed review of the previous
season's World Series, all-time World
Series results/records, Rosters, Minor
League data and much more. This edition
also recaps Johnny Vander Meer's
consecutive no-hitters.
The cover pictures General Abner Doubleday with an alternative 1839-1939
Baseball Centennial insignia. Baseball
Centennial articles include; "First
Written Rules" and "Highlights of 100
Years." The back of the record book has
a Louisville slugger ad picturing
Hank Greenberg, champion home run
hitter;, Ernie Lombardi, N.L. batting
champion; and Jimmie Foxx A.L. batting
champion. The back of the cover has an
advertisement for the Rawlings Bill
Doak glove.
