Fredric Sharf worked for
his family's business, M. Sharf and
Co., of Boston, Massachusetts, which
was founded by his grandfather in 1892.
While Mr. Sharf rose to lead the
company, it evolved from a wholesale
distributor of Toys and sporting goods
to the Sharf Marketing Group
representing sports figures, by the
early 1980s.
The Trojan brand baseball gloves were manufactured by the Denkert Sporting
Goods Company for M. Sharf & Co.,
Boston, which were then distributed by
them. There were two logos used through
the years. The earliest has the word
"Trojan" above a circled "X" with "M.
Sharf & Co., Boston" around the rim.
The later Logo Reads "Trojan" with
"Sporting Goods" inside a tail
continuing along the bottom, from the
"N"
