This
is a nice example of a 1950s catchers mask. The style is
very similar to the late 1940s masks, but the 40s masks usually
have more leather and lacing around the front metal part
of the mask. The 1960s masks are also similar but they
started using lighter weight metal. Another way of
telling the age of a mask is by the straps. the earlier
masks had all leather straps, and the later starting
using elastic. Pre 1940s masks looked more like the
early Birdcage style.
